DIGICEL DONATES $3 MILLION TO MUSTARD SEED

May 20, 2009

Mobile operator Digicel has donated $3 million to Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) to assist in the restoration of Martha’s House, a home for abandoned children afflicted with HIV/AIDS, which was severely damaged by fire last month. Digicel Jamaica CEO, Mark Linehan made the cheque presentation to Father Gregory Ramkisoon, MSC Founder, during a tour of the MSC headquarters on Wednesday, May 20.

“Digicel has a long history of supporting the Mustard Seed Community,” said Linehan. “And we’re pleased to be in a position, yet again, to assist them, especially now, in their hour of need. Our contribution will assist in rebuilding Martha's House so that once again it can become home to the children who once lived here.“ Last month, Digicel employees donated food supplies and toiletries for the displaced children, as part of a wider effort to bring some normalcy back to their lives.
